Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts, Girls Inc. of Worcester, and YWCA of Central Massachusetts have teamed up to make a difference in the lives of middle school girls. This collaboration allows girls from Worcester County to learn how to safely navigate the world of social media. Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts, Girls Inc. and the YWCA have a proven history of success in providing quality, girl-only programing making them the perfect facilitators for the All About MEdia program.
Thanks to the Fred Harris Daniel’s Foundation we are able to support more girls and their families with the tools to be safe in today’s digital world.
Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. Our goals are: 1.) to provide the essential framework that helps girls to build skills, develop character and values, make sound decisions, and be successful in a diverse world; 2.) create awareness and understanding of the correlation between education and success, and empower girls to be all they can be and 3.) engage girls in leadership and decision-making roles so they will build self-esteem, develop a sense of competency, and become resilient, active contributors to our society.
YWCA Central Massachusetts is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. The YWCA’s primary goal is to empower the individuals it serves (75% of whom are low-income) and help to elevate their lives. The YWCA addresses the root causes of the disparities they face (income, education, opportunities, health, and safety) through programs and services that provide knowledge and skills and access to resources.
Girls Inc. of Worcester inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. We put our mission into practice through the people, place and programming that together, empower girls to succeed. Girls are equipped to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers and grow into healthy, educated, independent adults. For more than 103 years, staff at Girls Inc. has provided critical programming to girls from greater Worcester.
